SE-IAL 6.2 FÄRNEBO Folkhögskola (Österfärnebo) 19/07 - 31/07 Topic: ENVI 13 vols + 2 leaders

Färnebo folkhögskola is the school of the peace, environmental and solidarity movements in Sweden. The school work for democracy, international equality, the economical use of the world´s resources, just peace, equality of the sexes and human rights. Färnebo folkhögskola is situated in Österfärnebo, a village with about 1500 inhabitants situated 80 km north of Uppsala. W: 3/4 work and 1/4 studies. Garden work, cut trees and hedges and plantation. As well as some painting, roofing, repairing and cleaning work. Volunteers will cook and clean for themselves on a rotate basis. Some of the work will be done on roof, ladders and scaffolding. Therefore vols should not be afraid of hights (the hights will not be very high and there will be safety arrangements, which make the working situation secure). S: Ecology and environment. There will be discussions and thoughts about and around the theme. Some teachers at the school will take care of a small part of the studies, but it is also necessary for the vols to take part in them, to have lectures and workshops of their own interest. Excursions and canoeing in the National Park of Färnebofjärden, visit one ecological project nearby. X: The National Park of Färnebofjärden closeby is a unique natural complex and it´s also one of the country's most extraordinary region from the standpoint of nature conservation. There are good places for swimming, fishing and canoeing. The use of alcohol and drugs is prohibited at the school and therefore also at the camp.
