SE-IAL 6.5 FÄRNEBO FOLKHÖGSKOLA (Österfärnebo) PVP what is this?. 23/07 - 03/08. 15 vols

Färnebo folkhögskola is the school of the peace, environmental and solidarity movements in Sweden. The school works for democracy, international equality, a sustainable use of the world's resources, just peace, gender equality and human rights. Österfärnebo is a village with about 1500 inhabitants situated 80 km north of Uppsala.

W: 3/4 work and 1/4 studies. The work will be garden work, cut trees and hedges and plantation. There will also be some cleaning, repairing and painting work. Working and study time will be flexible depending on weather. Volunteers will cook and clean for themselves on a rotate basis.

S: Ecology and environment. There will be discussions and thoughts about and around the theme. Some teachers at the school will take care of a small part of the studies, but it is also necessary for the Volunteers to take part in them, to have lectures and workshops of their own interest. We will also make excursions and canoeing in the National Park of Färnebofjärden and visit some ecological projects nearby.

X: Österfärnebo is situated nearby the lower Dalälven River and the National Park of Färnebofjärden. It is a unique natural complex that teems with life in a mosaic of special habitats and it's also one of the country's most extraordinary and valuable regions from the standpoint of nature conservation. There are good places for swimming, fishing and canoeing. The use of alcohol and drugs is prohibited at the school and therefore also at the camp.
